Daughter of the Deep is a New Adult fantasy book by @lina_amarego_writes (not Rick Riordan's latest release - Lina had the name first💁♀️), about pirates, mythology and a search for truth.
Sister of the Stars (pictured) is the sequel, and book 3 is in the works!
I am nearing the end of recording Daughter of the Deep, and I'm really excited for those who are interested to hear it!! It's my first recording project - and in fact, my first paid job😅 So I hope it will be okay! But I've been really enjoying the process - yesterday's chapter was especially entertaining, including some singing when some of the characters are sailing under a starry sky🤭✨
Occasionally, there's a line that trips me up - whether with alliteration or repeated syllables - often simple words that you wouldn't expect! It's usually quite funny, so I've been collecting the audio bloopers of me trying to say them😂
Here are some of my favourites... can you say them 5 times fast, like a tongue-twister?
• "Ronan and I"
• "sweat-soaked shirt"
• "Ellian Llewelyn"
• "he looked past me, at the stacked crates and oversized sacks tied to the deck."
• "Mr Cadwallader's Apothecary was still right across from Ms. Prichard's bakery."
[Also, for the record, Lina's writing is wonderful and flows off the page - these are just occasional, and it keeps me on my toes😂]

Ballygally Castle stands among emerald hills, surrounded by the swirling grey waters of the Irish Sea. Within its stone walls, a winding staircase leads up to a small room with white walls, with two quilted beds and a mirrored dresser. On the far wall is a portrait of a sorrowful woman: Lady Isabella Shaw. It is said that her spirit roams the castle.
So the legend goes, her husband longed for a son - but when she gave birth to a daughter, he flew into a rage, imprisoning them both in the highest room of the castle and leaving them to starve. Heartbroken by the cruelty of her spouse, the distraught Isabella took her baby in her arms, opened the window, and leapt to her death.
Lady Isabella's ghost is now said to walk a time-worn path around the sturdy bastion and has a particular fondness for knocking loudly on guests' doors. Yet when they answer, no one is there.
However, there is an even more disturbing phenomenon that occurs in the ghost room.
Several people ascending the old staircase have heard the sounds of a baby sobbing. As they hurry to follow it, the bawling grows louder - but when they reach the ghost room and open the door, the cries suddenly cease... and they find that the room is empty.

On another note! Most Fridays I will be sharing more light-hearted fairytales - but there is always a darkness to them, so I thought a more sombre ghost story paired with this edit, so I hope that's okay🙈
