Welcome, Enchanted Wanderer
I write this from the hollow of an English forest, an owl at my side and a quill in my hand. I’m Katie, and here’s where I share all things books, writing, art and inspiration. If you pass me on your travels, I will probably be wearing a long skirt, some kind of hat and too many necklaces.
While writing and reading, I love drinking liquorice tea or hot chocolate! As an aspiring Indie author and member of the Instagram writing community, it’s a joy of mine to support fellow writers and book-lovers.
My Favourite Stories
People often ask what my favourite genre is – and I can never pick just one! I’m drawn to any story that features magic and a sense of wonder, especially ones that blend cosiness with spookiness.
Some of my absolute favourite films are Miss Peregrine’s Home, Spiderwick, and The Guernsey Literary (clearly I’m a fan of long titles that need to be abbreviated, too). In terms of books, I love the Tiffany Aching series by Terry Pratchett, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, Lockwood & Co. by Jonathan Stroud, and Whispering to Witches by Anna Dale. (Click here to see more about my favourite books and movies!)
I’m currently writing a dystopian-fantasy book about escaping an unfamiliar world, featuring a witch of the woodland, an attic of memories, and technology in the hands of a showman – with friendship at its heart. For writing updates, you can follow my @katiesliteraturecorner Instagram page, and check blog posts on here!
Having done developmental editing and proofreading for an indie author friend, I recently began recording audiobooks! I’ll also take art commissions for character art or pet portraits from time to time.
If you are interested in being part of an online society of readers, writers, dreamers and thinkers, wander through the secret gate into the world of The Enchanted Society here.
I enjoy hearing about the projects of fellow writers, so you are welcome to reach out about yours!
