Hi, Iโ€™m Katie

In case youโ€™re a visual person like me: I have brown hair, brown eyes, and Iโ€™ve been mistaken for a ghost (seriously โ€“ once I was standing in a dark castle corridor in a dress, and a guy came round the corner and shrieked, then said โ€œIโ€™m sorry, I thought you were a ghost!โ€) This is fitting, as I love writing by candlelight, drinking tea, and long walks in long skirts. How else could I pretend Iโ€™m in a period drama?

I feel at home in the presence of old books and paintings. I adore the haunting peace of the moors and watching the moon in a clear sky. I take photos and jot down thoughts wherever I go, and love witchy books and quest stories. Iโ€™m usually reading ten books at once, and working on as many projects. I’m fond of old poems, 70s rock, gothic elegance, deep art-gallery conversations, and sunset laughter. England is my realm of residence, and I have just finished an English Literature degree.

I love connecting with artists and bookworms, and embracing life’s magic.

What I do:

Writing:
The book I’m drafting is a sci-fi-fantasy adventure about best-friendship, found-family, divided worlds, and what โ€˜magicโ€™ really means. You can find updates on my Instagram page (and the occasional snippet)!

Audiobooks & Narration:
I’ve recorded three fantasy novels so far, available on Audible: Daughter of the Deepย andย Sister of the Starsย by Lina C. Amarego, andย A Story Spun in Scarletย by Renee Dugan.

Proofreading:
I’ve always been a stickler for grammar (and I have an English degree), so I offer a proofreading service for indie authors who’d like their edited book checked thoroughly, for that final shine.

Photography:
I love photographing and editing, and have been a photographer at two fantasy ball events:ย The Hunter’s Moon Ballย andย The Night Court Ballย hosted by Gauntlets & Gowns Events. You can see more of my photography on my Instagram page.

Art:
I love painting and drawing, and at the moment I’m working on oil paintings that reflect renaissance and Victorian styles.

If you’d like to follow the journey, I share updates about these things in my monthly newsletter, and on my Instagram page @katiesliteraturecorner.

My email is katiesliteraturecorner @ gmail.com (but without spaces)
